PRAIRIE POLLINATING INC. Is a privately held company committed to serving the needs of producers and users of leafcutting bees (commonly known as leafcutters). We're part of the alfalfa seed industry in North America where leafcutters are used extensively as pollinators of alfalfa seed crops in the western states and in the Canadian prairie provinces. Leafcutters have also been introduced as pollinators of hybrid canola, and blueberries and are being used experimentally in a variety of crops.

Like all commodities, the supply, demand, quality, and price of leafcutters varies each year, and fluctuates throughout the year. The marketing season is concentrated most heavily in the late fall and winter months. Every year we source Canadian leafcutting bees for the export market, carefully testing each lot to accurately determine the live larvae count and level of parasitism. The cocoons are delivered to our customers with complete documentation outlining the live larvae count and level of parasitism as well as the quantity of bees present. Since leafcutters contribute significantly to the bottom line of alfalfa seed growers in the U.S. And Canada, we work hard to build long lasting relationships with growers on both sides of the border.
