Kee Fatt Industries Sdn Bhd, initially a family-business and now an established Malaysian-Japanese joint-venture manufacturing corporation, has been supplying the market with its rubber-based Power Transmission Belts for over three decades.
Its Power Transmission Belts, with wide-usage in the automotive, industrial and agricultural sectors, clearly testifies to two significant success factors. Firstly, it illustrates the prosperous niche that the Company has found for itself. Kee Fatt Industries is the first and only rubber-based Power Transmission Belts manufacturer in Malaysia. The Company took a challenging road to earning industry-wide recognition. In 1988, the Company became the first rubber product manufacturer in Malaysia to win the Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS) Quality Management Certification. Also to its credit are two other hard-earned quality certifications including the Standards and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM) Product Certification License (1985) and the ISO 9002 Quality Management Certification (1997).
The Company's products, manufactured and marketed under the licensed names of BANDO and MAKO, are very well established and recognised in both the replacement and Original Equipment Manufacturers market.
Kee Fatt Industries is one of the earliest and most recognised landmarks in Kulai, a fast-expanding industrial township in the Malaysian state of Johor where it is based. Its factory has over the years been upgraded and expanded to cope with increasing job orders and now has a workforce of some 300 employees.
Bando Chemical Industries Ltd. Of Japan is Kee Fatt's technical partner and the strength behind this growing venture. This respected Japanese counterpart continues to provide its support and training resources to Kee Fatt's employees, effecting a transfer of technology that is truly reflective of the spirit of the Kee Fatt-Bando joint venture and technical assistance agreements.
At present, Kee Fatt Industries' greatest strength is its focus on meeting customers' needs and specifications.
